Need ways to entertain parakeet

Is there any way to entertain a parakeet that's been in his cage all his life? He seems bored and I don't want him to be stuck there for the rest of his life. Bye!

There are many toys that can be bought & hung off the sides of the cage to stimulate the parakeets mind. My friend has a parakeet that she has trained so that it flies freely in her room, and goes in the cage only at night.

Is there an easy way to train it to go out of it's cage but will always come back?

Are the wings clipped?

We don't clip it's wings and I bet the parakeet would not like it.

clipping wings is like cutting a toenail if done right...and it will allow him to be trained without flying away....our baby loves mirrors and ladders

Clipping it's wings will allow it to sit on top of the cage, be carried around, etc. without having to worry about it flying away.

Oh! I guess I might do that! I am sure when I do that it won't be so bored!

I wouldn't suggest clipping the wings yourself unless you really know how it's done. No need for injury. A local vet should be able to do it at a reasonable price.

I was thinking about that.
