wow..every1 here have very beautiful bettas!! Its amazing to see how much care u give to those cute little fellas... well.. i thot of sharing some pics of my bettas too... I have 1 male and 1 female betta... The male was actually from a pet shop where he was kept in a death cup...well im glad i got him coz he's such a darling... the female on the other hand is such a cutie..I was actually amazed to see one of the member's video's here where he showed his betta girl jumping when he fed her.. well guess wat..? to my surprise my girl does it too!!haha...she recently learnt how to do it..when i take her food container she looks at it n knows its her snack time so she immediately swims to d surface n waits for me.. n the minute she sees the container above her.. she leaps!! Well..i know its quite dangerous so I m being very careful.. so here r some pics of my babies...
The first few pics are were his initial tank..its was quite a small one..only 12litres.. some very helpful frens here in the forum advised me to get a larger one..n so i did!! I just got it today actually..so im still setting the tank up..Its a 25litres tank..i know its still not too big..but i cant afford to get a larger one at the moment coz I m a student and i live in the hostel.. but i guess its better than nothing rite...d new tank is for my male..n his former tank will be my girl's new home... i hope they like their new homes..!!
Some new additions:
First is "Woody" (I didn't name him). My grandmother gave him to me. He was in a 1.5 gal. tank with a guppy & 2 goldfish.
Second is a female that I had in my 20 gal. community before it turned into a QT. Look at that spread!! As close as I'm going to get to a HM girlie I suppose. She's a cup betta from Petsmart.
Mango - Male Orange Dalmation VT. He's got a very short tail. Ask the filter about why that is. He was from my LFS and I've had him for 9 months.
Kairi - Female Red & Blue VT. This picture was when she first arrived, the tear in her tail has healed and her stress lines are gone. She's a Wal Mart rescue and has been with me for about a month now.
Quint - Male Metallic Red/Blue HM. Here his spread is not... well... spread out. I have yet to get a decent picture/video of him flaring. He was from my LFS and has been with for for about 2 and 1/2 weeks
I am new and I have a CT betta named Sushi. Didn't plan to buy a fish just yet although I have a 5 gallon and a 10 gallon tank sitting at home but I saw Wal-Mart had a lot of bettas and I always went to look at them when I am there. I saw this handsome Red/Blue CT, very beautiful and whenever I am there, he stares at me in the eye hmm. I didn't buy him as I wasn't prepared and then after weeks, it was down to last 3 betta containers and he was still there! Every time I went there, he stares at me!!! Finally I said to him if he is still there the next time I go there, I will buy him and he was but he was pretty sick the next time I saw him. I didn't care, bought him, told him I'd nurse him back to health. He is now in his 10 gallon tank with a teenie tiny snail that came with the Java Moss. Mr. Sushi followed it but decided not to bite it and let it live in his tank.
He has got a lot of personality. When he first went in to his new home, he has to swim around and check every single nook and crany. Then I strip the usual aquarium background paper and made the one that is in the picture right now and he swam and check every inch out! Lol he is very funny.
Here are some pics..not the best as I use camera phone but will take better ones later. For whatever reason, he won't let me take the side of his body and keep staring in to the camera!
Figured I would just add these two to the existing betta photo thread.
So I can't say Zephyr was entirely cooperative...as I took about 50 shots and only ended up with 2 worth keeping. And one of them was only for the humor factor.
The first is big veiltail that I named ET. He is really big compared to all other bettas in the store and looked sad when I got him.
The second is my Cloud boy. Named him Cloud because he reminds me of a cloud when I look at him. I bought him after Wasabi passed and this boy reminded me a lot of Wasabi.
Third is a new baby betta that I just got today. He was shipped to the store teenie tiny couple weeks ago and today he is still there still tiny and is just starting to colour up. I keep looking at this baby for quite a while and have been thinking of him before I sleep every day. I was hoping someone would buy him but for $8 but no one bought this black skinny tiny cute little CT that looks like a big black guppy at the moment. He loves to look at me and that did it. I can see he is about to go downhill if I don't get him so I got him today. His stress stripe is very clear when I got him. I think he feels very stressful in the store. He is now in his QT tank with a cave and some hornworts and I gave him some Pepso food to help clear up his system a little and he is eating already but his stress stripes are still obvious. He is just a cute baby! Can't wait to see what colour he would be!
Another picture of Elton- he's become camera shy, though- I think he remembers the flash. Now when he sees a camera he starts darting and I hate to stress him out. I got this hiding the camera under a button-up sweater.

Here is my sweet work-companion Fishi-Tres. He keeps me company at the office and is my 2nd betta. The original "Fishy" was a gift from my daughter on Christmas 2 yrs ago and sadly, he died in March. My heart healed enough to get this boy in May and he is wonderful...
this is "Faith". my very first betta. I bought him on january 9, 2009.. He's still alive, but his currently recovering from a fin rot.
this is "Left-Eye". my 2nd betta (june 18,2009). I call him Left-Eye, because he is such a nutter butter! haha flares at almost everything, very territorial, yet so beautiful.
and last but not the least, my 3rd betta; "Nesta" (june 30, 2009). I call him "Nesta", because I am a HUGE fan of BOB MARLEY.. yeahp. Bob Marley's REAL name is Nesta Robert Marley.. and his texture reminds me of marley in soo many ways.. soo I call him "Nesta".. it also means "The Messenger".
