Aaaaaw... Niiiiiice! 10G is great for a betta. It's heart-warming to see how many more people are giving them the space. Well done!
Oh, by the way, meet Gaston, my new red crowntail - got him about 2 weeks ago. He's a real beauty in real life (in all modesty), but as usual, the pictures don't do him justice. His IQ, on the other hand, is really not that impressive in comparison to the ladies of the house. Ah well, can't have it all.
Oh, and his tail is exactly the same colour as our carpet !

he he he. I never doubted it (my bad MTS infection).
But sadly, I bought him because Riel passed away. Riel was the really pretty red and blue one. To this day, I still don't know what's happened. It was pretty sudden. She started having stress stripes and I tried lots of solutions, and within a week, she was gone. She was the one cuddling me. Am not letting me affect me too much so I try not to think about it. I really don't want to be depressed, so I am concentrating on the fact that she had a good (but short) life with me, and that her death has meant a new arrival in the family. But she was definitely a special one, may she rest in peace.

Ah, i'm sorry. Maybe she and Honey will be together. We both found true little gems to show us just how special female Bettas are. Kiz is a sweetheart too, i felt guilty at first adoring him but life goes on!

I hate when they drop dead on us like that. Sorry for your loss
Your newbie reminds me of Jasper but with a crown tail.

Thanks, Michelle. I really hope so too. I really love the new boy, though, so that sweetens the bitter pill a bit.

Very lovely pictures and very lovely boys. I love the looks of both of them and you know that Mr. Peach is special, a dalmation. But Jasper looks like a character and such a personality. I love the decoration in his tank. Have you thought of entering them in the photo contest?

Thanks. I have a few shots in the contest already...I'll save these ones for next time.
Jasper IS a character...he'll jump out at me no matter what I am doing around the tank, lol. He like fingers too. His tank is right beside my side of the bed...so I see him first thing every morning. My morning greeter.

Ok so I knew I wanted to eventually get a betta...eventually. I wanted to get a fancy looking one from a breeder online or something..But then today when I was at I sale at the fish store aquarium. I picked up this little guys cup and knew I had to have him..I kept telling myself no but in the middle of the guy ringing me up I told him to add the betta too..He is an all black betta with what looks like red lying underneath but when he flares you can see lil blue areas on his back fin...I allways thought I would get one with a huge tail but....he is the one..lol..everyone meet Othello
will get better pics when i have him settled in his tank

Hi Lalynya...
Your black betta is gorgeous! Its rare to find one almost all black. If I had the room, and saw him, I probably would have picked him up to!
good luck with him!

Very nice tank, I do see that it is filtered and is it by chance heated as well? I am hoping that you could get him a small heater. I know that some say that you cannot heat below 2.5 gallons but a 2 gallon can be heated if you do it carefully with a 25 watt heater that is small in size.

He does have a small heater behind the plant I unpluged the heater because it was getting hot and looks like i need to watch the light now too cuz it seems to be making the tank rather warm..although he seems to like it but i dont want to end up with betta soup...I have been keeping a very close eye on his temp so I will ust have to keep watch some more until I get his heating system perfected..so anyways..off topic me...no never!!!!
