Possible infection source..??

I was just sitting on the couch and a thought came to me. For the last 7 months, I have been fighting with a fairly severe staph infection. Through several, SEVERAL courses of antibiotics that have done absolutely NO good, it has been diagnosed as MRSA. Whenever I do WC's, and very often throughout the day anyway, I make sure and wash my hands very well. But I can think of a few times when I have reached into one or another of the tanks without thinking first, to grab something that my son dropped in, etc. I am no doctor, but it got me to wondering if it is possible that the source of the bacterial infection in my babies is ME!?! Is that possible? Is it likely? HELP!

Nah, if your talking about the white dust stuff..No. Though some cases of infections can be passed between humans and fish and fish to humans I do not belive staph is one of them. And too I dont have staph and am having the same problem. I'll give a call to a friend of mine hes a Doctor I'll see what he says. Dont worry though ok?

Hmmmm I have of some extremely rare cases of betta with tuberculosis passing on tuberculosis to a human. Either it's simply possibly, or there has been a case... I don't wanna scare anybody though!

no the dusty stuff hasn't shown to have anything to do with the infection...the infection I am talking about iss the one that started killing my fish with little to no symptoms about 3 weeks ago...I am not worried about the stuff at the bottom of the bowls..no biggie..but we still haven't come up with a source for the bacterial infection..then tonight we had to start treating Peggy..the goat..for an infection that looks a lot like mine and it got me started thinking about whether or not staph can spread to fish too...

EDIT: From what I understand, fish TB isn't really TB, it is a bacteria called mycobacterium marinum but it can spread to humans through cuts etc. and is closely related to TB.

Turberculosis can be passed from fish to human and human to fish. Its only of those diseases. But Staph is the topic, and im almost certian it cant be passed. Like I said I'll call my doctor friend tommrow and ask.

I noticed your ninjaing lol. And your right. Its closely realted to human TB but it can mutate once in the human body into human TB. And sometimes it wont. Luck of the draw I guess...lol. But I do know that Staph can be passed in mammals... Which means your goat might have it.

*Edit...im not a vet...just going off what I know about diseases in general*
