Hey there, I haven't posted in a while, but we lost our betta boy, Snowdrop, about two months ago and we haven't found a replacement yet. I'm having a very hard time searching for where to buy these beauties and wondered if anyone has any ideas as to where to search? Does anyone on this forum breed them? Thanks...

Also, the reason we are replacing him is that he was my daughter's fish, she's three, and Snowdrop is "in the hospital" rather than dead. She didn't want to accept that he'd be gone, so we're going with this idea... which I initially thought was a great one, until I discovered how hard it is to find a replacement.

He was sick when we bought him; we tried to save him, did the best we could, but he keeled over... we miss him, especially our little girl.

mm might be able to hook you up with one but hers are a bit pricey, what i would do if i were you would be just keep scanning stores and keep looking

hmmm platinum betta? I'd try Aquabid... I know there's a breeder in the states who specializes in them but I think they're in texas....

If you can't find one then you could find one that looks like the old bettas finnage and say when he came back from the hospital say the medicine made him change colors

what tail type was he? do you know? You can usually find some nice ones on aquabid, but if he was a veiltail then I think your best bet would just be to keep looking in stores

You could say he had fishey cancer and he lost some of his fins.<---- explain: I have found that it is easier to find platnuim females than platnuim males

Hello BabyBlu. Sorry to hear you lost SnowDrop. I know we have some Betta breeders as members. Hopefully they can lead you in the right direction for a replacement. The member that comes to mind is Martinismommy. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you sent her a private message.

I'm sorry you lost Snowdrop.....I am actually going to be doing a platinum breeding after the 1st of the year but I can't ship out of the US......I'd contact the IBC at IBCBETTAS.ORG and see if they can locate a breeder in your area.....
