Thanks! I hadn't seen one before with the white outline. I couldn't pass on him. He's a little lighter of a blue than the pictures.

How gorgeous! He kind of looks like my betta, Lord Nelson. (He's my avatar photo. The colors are kind of messed up.) I rescued him from Walmart. Will he grow to look more like your betta?

I'm not sure, he might. Does Lord Nelson have light blue or white on the outline of his fins?

His fins are outlined in white. The picture doesn't really show his coloration very well. He has also been stressed a bit latly with constant water changes, which has dulled his colors. He'll feel better when I get him into his new tank. I hope he ends up looking somewhat like yours. Your betta is beautiful. Have you named him yet? I found a website with fish names I thought you might be interested to look at. http://www.aquariumfish.net/pages/na...fish_males.htm
Some of them are rather strange...

I like the blue & white, it gives him a bit of a nautical look. I wouldn't have been able resist adopting him either!

I think his name is Fiyero. The name is from the book Wicked, by Gregory Maguire. The character has ceremonial blue diamonds tattooed on his skin. It's my favorite book & I've been wanting to use the name for a long time. He's one of my favorite characters. I plan on breeding Fiyero in the future. I'll need to find him a green butterfly female betta to name Elphaba.

Yes beeautiful and very unusual for a VT. Maybe it's a cross between a VT and HM.
