Betta Fish & Live Plant Food?

I know bettas do good in planted tanks, and I know planted tanks require plant food... so I am wondering which plant food is safest for bettas? Does it matter which I use?

I guess I am just curious because sometimes you can not give bettas the same medicine as other fish because of the labyrinth organ, and I am trying to find out if this is the same for the plant food as well.

I've never heard of any issues with plant food and betta's (provided it's an additive for aquarium plants and not regular plant fertilizer)

I picked up http://www.aqueonproducts.com/produc...plant-food.htm in the store and after I got home I began to worry and have doubts. I just don't want anything to happen to my little man

Yeah it doesn't look like there's anything in there to worry about just make sure you don't over dose (alage likes it when you do) also with plants that feed more heavily through their roots you may want to look into root tabs.

I agree with Red1313..I think that you should be okay.

I dose all my tanks with Seachem products (including my Betta tank) and it doesn't seem to bother any of the fish.

Good luck and let us know how you like the Aqueon products

Sorry, don't know much about plants so can't really help. Everyone's advice sounds good though!

Hi Jane.

There's nothing to worry about. I agree that it won't do any harm to your betta. Good luck!
