| Lucky you, to have good boys. Most of mine are very well behaved, when I here noises of stones clinking or am told that there is arguments flaring up I can generally sum it up into two categories: Hercules & Theseus. Lol.
Did it take them time to get used to each other? |

Did it take them time to get used to each other? | That's funny. It's like controlling children
I never introduced Macho to Zac, they don't know each other exist. haha I thought it'd be fair that way. Zac was so beat up he'd probably need time alone because the bottle he was in was clear for other fighters to flare at him. |

| Poor little dude.
My fighters tanks are next to each other but span over two seperate areas. I don't think the fighters in one area know that there is others on the other side of the room, unless they remember from being bought together. Other than that, they have little choice but to live side by side and be one big happy family. It is interesting to watch - even though all fighters have the killer instinct some can ignore it more than others. I have found that my babies get to know each other and over time don't care about the one next to them, but if I rearrange them or get newbies, then it is flare time until the new one is initiated. Having said this, I know who to keep away from each other, just like people some personalities will never mesh. My Adonis is currently very happy, he is positioned between my two girls and likes to alternate which one he flirts with. Lol. |

| Yeah that pretty much sums them up. Its amazing to see their different personality traits, especially when I currently endeavouring to begin training some of them.
What are the personalities of your two like? Do they have any quirks that you've noticed? |

| Training them? That'd be cool!
Well, you know Macho, he's a real fighter, but likes to act strong and show off. But mostly sleeps the whole day or hangs around. Zacapple on the other hand is really active. He swims around his tank and is REAL photogenic unlike Macho. But I love them both |

| Yes training them. I train my fighters like you would a dog. It takes the right personality of fish but I successfully trained in the past & I love it! I am currently helping another member train her fish.
They sound like darlings. Zac sounds like a lot of fun, & Macho is funny! How do they interact with you? |

| How do you train your fighters? I mean, they can't sit and stay like dogs right? LOL That's be funny!
They don't interact with me much, still trying to get use to me. And worse part is I'm not always free or in the house much so they only see and get to make funny faces at me when I'm doing water changes for their tank or feeding them. |

| I train my fighters to do things on command. The tricks I trained my Achilles included Come, Stay, Folllow & to swim in directions on vocal command like 'Touch the Tank Bottom'. I am working on my new babies now, with the right type of fish they can have a very high IQ. Pylades has already swam through a loop for me. I also work on interacting with them so that they arent afraid of human hands.
I do find that the best interaction time is during water changes, I was playing with my Palamedes (one of my star pupils) whilst cleaning his tank yesterday. I taught him to do a handy trick, Palamedes will swim into the net on command. I save heaps of time trying to catch him! |

I'm afraid if I start training mine, they'd be staring at me and probably thinking, 'what's he saying?' LOL |

| Vocal takes awhile but it is great once they master it. In the beginning I use vocal and hand signals then once they master it I slowly stop giving hand signs. By then they seem to know the words. I have a whole process that i follow. It is my thing that I have with my fighters. I read their personalities and train them. It is a wonderful feeling. My beginners are already making progress. It is amazing to watch. I film the progress I make. |

| I'm crossing my fingers for your computer's cooperation. Must be something about Australia that creates great trainers. One of my puppies went to live near Canberra with a real wiz... they are blazing through obedience, show and agility training. |

| My boys: Admiral, Captain, Commander and Ivan were all next to each other. The only one who wouldn't buy into the whole flaring thing was Commander... He would simply ignore the others as they flared at him... I could almost hear him: "Yeah.... Whatever.... Tuffies...."
He's simply laze around the tank, then spread himself out comfortably on the favorite leaf of his favorite fack plant... *LOL* |

| Of course I'll keep you updated! I was intending to film their steps and stages along the way & do updates on my progress but the technology in my house had other ideas! LOL. If only I could tame computers hey?
THESHIFYS_JM: I have noticed this too when observing my fish. After a while of keeping them all next to each other the ones that had been there a while would become wise to the fact that there was glass separating them and that no matter how much they fought, they could never get through it! When a newbie would come and start flaring away my Achilles would looks at them with this expression that seemed to say, 'you idiot, there's glass between us, duh!' |
