| I think I might just get a 5g tank set that has most of what I need included. I found one for around $30-40. I will check to see, but I think it might end up being less expensive to get the 5g than getting everything I need for the 20g. It would also fit better in my room. |

My fighters make me happy it is amazing how their crazy little ways can be so endearing. The tank sounds good by the way. . . |

| I'm kind of debating with myself at this point. I will either get a 5g, 10g, or get the stuff to set up my 20g. Of course, if I get the 5g, the 20g might fit in my room later, and I could have MTS. If my mom lets me have MTS, that is! |

Lol. | That's exactly what I was thinking! I am leaning towards the 5g for now. Later, maybe for my birthday next October, I could ask for the stuff to set up my 20g. (I'm an incurable penny-pincher! ) I'm still not sure though. The 5g I'm looking at comes in a kit with a filter and hood. I think I would replace the filter because the one in the kit is too noisy for me. My brother has one in his tank. I guess he's used to it, but it would drive me crazy if it had to be left for a long period of time. I think it would make a great back up filter in case something happens to the other one. I posted a thread under filters to ask for suggestions, so hopefully I'll find something. I have my eye one one someone suggested to me. It's ever on sale! Did I mention that I am a penny-pincher?! |

| I would be a penny pincher if I had enough money to pinch pennies and still spend some! I am in the market for a tank that comes with everything but they all seem way out of my price range. Just my luck, the one I had my eye on was on sale the week before pay day. Now I have the money, it is off sale and it had been half price! Knowing my luck once again though it would probably leak! LOL. |

| Pics Finally, I have pics!!! The two pic of Lord Nelson are in different lighting, obviously. I think the pic on the right side show his blue and white color more accurately, although neither are perfect. The white on the outer parts of his fins is more of a true white than is shown in the pics. He has more of a bluish-green on the parts of his fins closest to his body. It's not very obvious; you have to look closely to see it. Close to the edge of his fins before the white part is blue like the rest of him. I expect the small transparent part of his top fin to turn white after he is moved into a heated, filtered tank. I'm sure the constant water changes are stressing him out. Is the other pic a bubble nest? Why would he be building one, since there is no female? What color is he, technically? Is he a veil tail? Will his tail grow? I have no idea how old he is, but I'm guessing he's decently young. The dates shown on the pictures are wrong, of course. Last edited by Heather M; November 13th, 2009 at 11:51 PM.

| Omigod he's gorgeous!! So glad you were able to rescue him. Pike (our betta) isnt minding his little bowl too much and has quite the bubble nest going at the moment. Just wait until we change his water tomorrow though lol. But, it is so much better than those stupid little cups they put them in at the pet stores and Walmart. If I could adopt them all I would. |

And yes it's a bubble nest, and it means he's a happy boy. Congrats! |

| Wish I could help you hon, but I'm no expert on Betta colours. He certainly looks like a young veiltail, but even that I can't be sure of. Hopefully MM or another of our amazing betta experts will read this and help you out with his colour. He sure is pretty though, I'm so glad you brought him home |

| He's stunning! Congratulations.
First bubblenest are exciting.
There are several members who can help with tail types and colors.
Unfortunatly, I'm not one of them. |
