I got her!

After 2 days of emails back and forth with the seller and the trans shipper, we have reached an agreement on payment! The sellers next shipment to the states isn't until the 1st of November so I did a buy it now on her and will pay the trans shipper either on the first or when she gets ready to ship her to me. So now I have to do my little victory dance
I will let everyone know when I get her. She will have to be shipped to me at my Mom's where I will be for 6-8 weeks for her surgery, but it will be great! Mom is excited to see her too!
So this is going to be my crowntail pair....Saturn and his new gal Pandora!!

P.S. Does anyone know generally how long it should take her to actually get to ME

That will be a beautiful breeding! Congratulations.....

After she gets to Linda (the transhipper) it usually takes about 5 days to receive her...

She got here and I conditioned her for about 2 weeks...when she got here she was already very full of eggs but I wanted to give her some time to get accustomed to her new surroundings and such. I set up the spawning tank and put her..in the hurricane glass..and Saturn together. For about an hour they flared back and forth at each other and she was showing her breeding bars. Then all of a sudden she started attacking the glass any time he got close. He stopped flaring at her and hid in the corner under the filter. I waited another day until he had a decent nest blown and released her. They seemed ok so I left the room for less than 5 minuted to check on my Mom. When I got back, she had half of his belly fins in her mouth chewing on them and I had to actually get the net in there before she would let go. I immediately seperated them with the glass and later that evening put them both back in their own tanks. Is it normal for the female to be that aggressive? I am very uncertain about trying again. If I had been gone more than a few minutes, I am afraid she would have killed him. Thankfully, his fins are already starting to grow back and after a tense day, he is eating and seems to be feeling fine. I must admit this has me more than a little worried that they won't ever be compatible. Should I try again?

Awww poor boy, I've met some crazy aggressive females in my time. Sometimes the females will also get aggressive if they're not ready to breed. Maybe re-condition for a week and try again? Beautiful pair by the way!
