First off...that's an absolutely terrible thing for them to do.
It's best to isolate the injured fish ad then treat it in a QT.

Welcome to Fish Lore
I'm really sorry to hear this.
How injured is the betta?
I'm sorry to say your dad and cousin are both very cruel and I wouldn't ever let them near my fish again.

What the ? Why would they do that. Great advice is given to you. Add some stress coat into the q/t tank as well. That is mean!

Your cousins are just mean. I'm guessing you probably didn't have much choice about your vacation plans and thought you could trust your cousins. Maybe after what they did to your pets this time your Dad will help you figure out an alternative fish sitter for your next vacation. I'm sorry they did that to your fish. There are a lot of Betta experts on FishLore. I hope your injured Betta survives.

Oh, sorry. I had read that wrong. I'm glad your dad, being an adult wasn't involved.
I'm really sorry they did that. You must have been very upset.
Keep his water pristine and warm to try and prevent infection. You can add a drop of garlic juice to his water to help his immune system and use a little extra stress coat with water changes.

Best of luck, I hope he feels better.

Welcome to Fishlore, and sorry to hear about the incident. Like Lucy said, Pristine water, extra stresscoat and Guarlicguard will do wonders. I hope your betta recovers.
Good Luck

Wow... I can't say how sorry I am that this happened. Poor bettas... if fighting dogs and chickens is illegal, why isn't this? It's just as cruel. Life is life.

I'm actually quite proud to say that the dormitory I live in has outright BANNED fighting bettas If you are caught you get fined 100$, and then more for each day you have the fish after that.

That's seriously cruel. It's like letting kids fight with knives. We all wish your injured betta to recover. RIP to the other poor betta.

Please keep us updated on your injured betta. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask members here for help.

Hello Play. Best wishes for a speedy full recovery. I don't know why people do some of the things they do.

That's terrible.. Unfortunatly that's not the first time I have heard this. You would have been better off putting a automatic fish feeder on, locked the door to the room the tank was in and hoped for the best.
With some TLC and the good advise you got here I wish your Betta a full recovery.

i just looked at your tanks, if you are keeping angels with a betta that will end the same way i think.

IMO, I wouldn't go with the automatic feeder. It pulls out extra $$ and extra time. Some auto feeders might also overfeed and eventually disaster. But I agree it would have been better than a dead betta.

That is beyond terrible.
I'd like to fight them to the death against each other for what they did.
Keep him on his own. Make sure his water is as clean as it can possibly be.
Try to obtain some healing and regrowth formula such as Betafix to try and get the him well. I wish him well!
