Questions for MM

Hi MM. I hope you don't mind me asking. On one of the threads you give a way to syphone the newly hatched fry tank. You said to use an air hose with the stone on the end. Then put the hose end into the tank. Ok now this is what I don't understand. I think I'm brain dead. LoL. With the hose end in the water and the stone in your hand how do you get the suction going from the stone end?..............Also another question. The Hikari First Bit that you use to feed your fry is that the newly hatched fry or a little older fry? Thanks for any help you can give.

The end with the air stone goes into the fry tank....The other end drains into a bucket lol.....Oh, you have to suck on the end to get the flow going.....As long as the bucket is lower than the tank you'll have no problem draining.....

I feed the newborns microworms and live baby brine shrimp for the 1st 3 weeks...Then I start adding atisons betta starter pellets....

wow thanks for the quick answers. OK got the air stone thing. Are the newly hatched fry big enough to eat hatched brine shrimp? I don't have the micro worms. I had them once and they creeped me out so never got them again.LOL. I do have Wardley small fry liquid food but that clouds the water so bad I don't like to use it plus I've had it for about 6 months now would it still be any good?

Newly hatched fry are too small for the BBS....The only thing I have been able to get them to eat for the 1st week is the microworms....If you don't have the MW's then just give them the BBS and the strong ones will survive....
