I finally decided to heed all of your advice regarding bettas and neon tetras... not because they were eating her fins, but because SHE was frightening them half to death last night for some reason... they went behind the filter and wouldn't come out :/ So, I worked out a deal with my friend who also keeps fish, and she was willing to give me one of her cycled tanks if I bought her a new one (she had no fish in one currently)! How amazing is that? So everyone give a big hand to my friend Chelsea, savior of the tetras! It still cost me money, but the tank was pre-cycled
They are now living in a nice big home in a school all by themselves The panda cory and oto are still in with the female betta, but they've never caused a problem and generally mind their own business. Plus Lily is chummy with the cory
Secondly, I decided to film my crowntail boy, Kefentse. He's a very beautiful betta, but the camera mutes his colors.
He did NOT like that camera. You can totally see him going "UGH, I cannot work like this, I will be in my trailer!"
Great video. He's a pretty boy.
I'm glad the neons are happy in their new home.
Female Bettas can be as aggressive as males. One of my fems won't even tolerate a snail!
Indeed. I'll not be putting tetras with her again. She wasn't biting or anything, but the aggression was not a good thing. I am lucky to have a very generous friend
