That is way more than helpful! Now I am glad I only managed to change about 3 cups of water that one time! i never would have though of using airhose with an airstone...that really is brilliant! Thanks again for all the help!

look on your camera settings and look for the flower icon..thats macro setting and will take much better pics for you if you can find it!

Thought I would go ahead and write an update on my fry...not going good at all. My microworms were late getting here (they did finally get here and I have been feeding them for a while) and 3 different batches of bbs didn't hatch at all. I have been supplementing them with the hikari first bites, but that isn't optimal, I know! I started out with about 200 fry and now am down to 5 i think. I have 4 smaller ones and one that is much bigger than the others. I suspect that a lot of the smaller ones went to the bigger one. First try I know, but I had hoped it would turn out a little better. The ones that are left do seem healthy, and I have new bbs for them that are better quality. I have learned a lot through error though...next time I will have a surplus of bbs eggs so if any don't hatch, I have plenty to fall back on, and I will definitely keep my microworm culture going so it is ready for the next time..which should be in a few more weeks. I plan on spawning my crowntail pair while I am at my Mom's since I will be there with her after surgery for about 3 months...wish I had better news! But I guess 5 healthy fry is much better than 200 sickly fry any day!

Thank you for the update..I'm happy you have a few that survived...I'm sure next time will go better for you...This is why it is so important to be prepared BEFORE you spawn....

Keep them warm and well fed and you will soon enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I just wish I had found fishlore before I spawned them. I had done a lot of research on the net and none of the sites I visited mentioned microworms being needed. Of course, after you told me about the microworms, I found info about them everywhere!! I greatly appreciate your help..if you hadn't told me about needing the worms I am afraid they would have all died! But my culture is RAPIDLY expanding, there are tiny, little worms everywhere, and I have the instructions on how to keep it going so I should be better prepared next time!! Thanks again for all the help MM!!

P.S. On another note, when showing bettas, can you only show betta that you have bred or can you show bought bettas too??

You are not allowed to show anything that wasn't bred by you....

You're welcome and good luck growing the little wigglers out....

Just wondering..is it common for the bigger babies to eat the smaller ones? Or is it just because of all the trouble I had getting live food to them until the 2nd week?
