To swap or not to swap...

I recently reorganized my tanks and now I'm wondering... I don't like the look of my divided ten gal (never really have but it was convinent at the time) I do however have 2 2.5 gal tanks that are ready to go for betta's or QT etc. So here is my debate. Do I move Ruby and Max out of the divided ten gal and into their own 2.5? It's a step down in size but I'm slowly working on upgrading the 2.5's to 5's... what do you guys think?

Then what goes in the ten gallon? I say leave them where they are and get two more bettas for the 2.5g Afterall, the newbies won't know whats its like to have 5 gallons to themselves and will *LOVE* the 2.5g tank. Ruby and Max will miss their 5g, I bet!

I don't see anything wrong with a 2.5 gallon for your bettas. That said, if you wanted to give them more room and keep them in the 10 gallon, you could always do a plexiglass divider which in my opinion is more visually appealing than the plastic mesh dividers. You could play around with some aquascaping ideas and make the 10 gallon more pleasing to look at.

Hello Red. Some good ideas above. I personally always hated downgrading a fish from a larger tank to a smaller tank. I'd wait until you had your 5g tanks ready for them and house new guys in the 2.5g's as mentioned.

Hi Red, If I remember, you didn't like cleaning the 2.5's, did you?
Maybe that was someone else.
Anyway, you might want to try to re-scape it, see if that doesn't appeal to you.
