Hi All:

I have two questions for you.

1) I utilize the technique to slow filter current where you place some filter floss hanging out of the outflow part of the filter and into the tank to slow the water current down. However, this also keeps the water surface from moving and after a couple of days my little boys have a layer of ... gunk ... on the surface of the water. How do you prevent this? I tried putting an air stone in their tanks ... Eos was first ... and it created WAY too much turbulence from him. He was being swept across the tank! So I took it out.

2) I bought some live plants for my red cherry shrimp tank and a couple of them had to go into Eos' tank (bought too many!) They are called White Ribbon plants ... kind of like sword plants. What other live plants do you find bettas enjoy? If I can successfully keep these alive I would like to add more and more live plants to their tanks.

1. remove some of the filter media and push it up out of the water a little bit more..adjust it until you like the current ..the further away from the water, the more current..

2. mine love java moss and anubias...

Any and all plants betta's love. One that reach near the surface for them to rest on are especially appreciated.

You can pick up a valve that you splint into the airline tubing between the pump and the water, that way you can adjust how much force the air comes out of the airstone with. Good Luck
