I bought a betta and he currently has a 17g tank to himself! I will probably end up buying a 5g tank for him and putting other fish in the 17g tank but I fell in love with the little dude (pics to follow) or knowing me I will end up heavily planting it and putting some betta friendly ornaments in lol!!.

Sorry pics are blurry

I merged your posts. Thanks!
Ken

Randy after Randy Marsh in Southpark

I was considering buying one of the girls from http://specialbetta.webs.com/forsale.htm

I like the look of the Red Cambodian Female Crowntail and the Green/blue and Red Female Crowntail but first I need to make sure I can look after 1 betta then partition the tank and consider a breeding tank / containers for the spawns lol.

Just be sure to follow the "rule of thumb" with the decorations. If your thumb will slide in and out of all the openings in everything you put in the tank it is safe for your betta and if you can rub it all over with a nylon stocking and it does not snag then it will not snag your betta's fins. You should also use this test on any fake plants you plan on putting in the tank. This is a very good way to protect the betta from snags and catches on the fin tissue. I love this betta's coloration and the name is so nice and fits him well. Thank you so much for making this rescue. He looks so happy and healthy and you will be so happy with him I am sure.

Well he ha set to rearranging some of my plants to make a bed - I will get a picture later its really cute.

He seems to tolerate 3 otos that I have in there, but if I see any signs of him flaring at them or chasing etc they will go straight into the other tank until I get my third tank - I am working on the bf already tee hee!

I got the photos from my phone and here they are!

He has got realy nice coloring I just hope he hasnt given me the betta bug just yet! I cant afford dividers and more tanks until at least a month lol!!

The first one I caught him waking up after sleeping in the plants, second one he is moving them around a bit and the last pic you can see my otos

Edit: I feel bad for asking but what kind is he?

Your pretty boy is a crowntail. As for the type of color... He'd either be called a Tri color or a multi.
Very pretty boy.

I saw one advertised on aquabid that was that coloration called a July 4th Crowntail. I suppose due to the red, white, and blue coloration. I think he would fall into that distinction if you choose to call him that.
