Adopt or not to Adopt... that is the question

I was scrolling through kijiji and I came across an add that... well intrigues me I guess.
Someone is moving and can't take their betta and tank with them. Not sure though what kind of "tank" it might be. That they have a fish net would at first thought make me think it's not a bowl but I can't be sure... what do you guys think? Should i contact them and say I'll buy the little guy or not?

IMO-yes! This betta, even if it is in a bowl, would have a great home with you.

You could always put an air bubbler in there for a few weeks until you could set up a betta tank for him, right?

I whole heartedly, 100%, no question completely agree with bolivian. I just brought home two cup babies this morning and it was well worth it in hopes they'll survive their previous experiences. You know how to give the little betta a proper home or adapt the one she or he is in now.

I think I can safely say that MartinisMommy will equally agree with us.

I agree, too, that you need to give this little guy a home! I think you put this up here because you know if you didn't ... we'd all get mad at you So...now we've justified it for you. I expect pictures soon!

What would I do without you my enablers? rofl
I sent the e-mail out and the responce I got is that they'll "check if he's still here" and get back to me... that's... and interesting way of wording it... could just be that the person who's e-mail they're using isn't the person who's in charge of the fish but...

What's happened between then and now? It is a very strange response. I see they mentioned a net, but no mention of a filter, heater or light. Hope the pretty little blue guy will be okay whether he winds up in your hands or not, Red. Let us know!

They said he's still availible so I'll probably call them tonight and arrange a time to pick him up tomorrow... now I just need to figure out which tank to put him in...

That's great! Someone around here is giving away a maroon clown fish. A fish is a fish no matter how small. The betta is getting a great home. Bettas are pretty small, right?

Congrats! You may want to Q him if he's been in poor conditions from living in a bowl...he may have developed a fungus or something.

Depends on what you consider small. They can grow to around 3"

I hope he hasn't. He'll be going in his own 2.5 gal with filter and heater so QT won't be necessary...
