| Atison's Betta Pro food no longer being made? I was just getting ready to start using this food for any incoming betta.
Anyone else heard/read anything?
I noticed that DFS has stopped carrying it. And then there's this from Blue Betta USA:
"Unfortunately, the manufacturer of the line, Ocean Nutrition North America has been sold to San Francisco Bay Brands who in their infinite wisdom has decided that this specialized line was not worth producing any longer as it has "limited applications" in their opinion and have ceased producing this line immediately.
Thus we have secured a small amount of the remaining product they have available and are making it available as usual, however, once these items are all sold out we will no longer be carrying this product line. All of the food products can be placed in the freezer to extend their freshness.
If you use Atison's Betta PRO 15gr, Atison's Betta PRO 75gr, Atison's Betta PRO 500gr, Atison's FRY starter 12gr or Atison's Betta SPA 500 ml we have very, very limited quantities remaining of these items and would advise you to act fast and secure your needs now as these items won't stay in stock very long!"
I guess it's bloodworms. Ken's betta food any good? I don't know if they're still going to make the regular Atison's food. I believe they are, as I haven't seen any mention of that being cancelled. Is that any good? |

| Wow...I absolutely love this food, and all of my bettas have, as well. This is VERY dissapointing news. Once its gone I'll transition Eos to bloodworms and some sort of replacement. Any suggestions? |

| Shawnie ... thanks for more of your excellent investigative work.
I am getting ready to place an order with Ken's for some other stuff (sponge filters, heater, etc.) and may just order some from him.
One food in particular, looks very interesting to me ... atleast as a potential variety/supplement food. And it's not even his betta food (although I might try that as well). It's the Ken's floating no carb premium tropical color pellet. While it says it works well for veggie/algae eating surface feeders ... it also has some ingredients that would seem beneficial to bettas and their more sensitive stomachs, not to mention overall health and color.
This particular food contains: green pea, spirulina, stabilized vitamin C, kelp, and garlic, among other beneficial ingredients. It comes in a 2mm floating pellet ... which I could split if necessary. It also has such things as herring and squid meal, which I've seen as protein ingredients in other betta pellets. |

I really liked the ingredients of the no carb pellet. As far as betta's go ... the fact that it's a smaller floating pellet that has a bit of pea, spirulina, garlic, stabilized vit. C, kelp, ect... seems outstanding. It would seem to be a good formula for a bettas sensitive stomach. The goldfish formula is similar, just larger. And of course, they're known for bloat, etc... as well. I could also feed it to my livebearers. I would also likely try Ken's premium betta pellets as mentioned. |

I'm going to try those for sure. I'll be ordering 3-4 different kinds of food.
I also really like Ken's prices on Heaters (he has Stealths starting at $17.95), very good price on canister & power filters, etc. I'll also be purchasing the Zoo Med small floating log decor ... sponge filters, and other stuff. I really like that site. |

| That site totally rocks! I had to buy betta, cory, baby, and pleco food. I got two more filters so I can keep up my "two filters per tank" status and an API test kit. I run through test kits pretty quick around here, so it's great to have a backup.
Everything including shipping, was less than a trip to the LFS AND you don't have to worry about getting there and them not having it in stock. I've had that happen so many times with filters and test kits replacements. It's pretty hard to find nitrite and nitrate test kits around here for some reason. Our test kits only last us about two months, so it's good to have backups. |

He sells all types of fish food, heaters, filters, test kits, water treatments, etc.
He's much cheaper, even with shipping than the LFS and his food is higher quality IMO. He's out of Massachusettes-did I spell that right? |
