no, no, no, no, NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

one of my new bettas is sick! kegan (the red crowntail) is all clamped up today and has fungus. this is exactly how i lost my first one
he was in a split 10 gallon with Arwyn, im so scared that he is going to get it too now!!
i put kegan in a 3 gallon and have treated him (fresh water, stress coat, garlic, and mardel for the fungus. arwyn looks fine so far. i will be devastated if i loose him

Don't kick yourself for bringing home a cup baby. They deserve a warm home with someone who loves them.
Sometimes it's just for a little while, as heart breaking as that is.

I don't know if I would use any chemical treatment without seeing signs of infection of the other Bettas...but I could be wrong..
I am so sorry for your loss

Although his time with you was short lived, atleast he didn't die in those quarter gallon cups. I'm sure he died happy. RIP Kegan.

That sucks coffeebean.

I dont know what kind of tanks you have or how much room you have......
but if you have room for cichlids since you are also in Winnipeg I will give you some to replace the fish you lost.

Here is what I can give you if you have the room
I have four 3" Paratheraps Synspilus, if you want a fish that will interact with you, but does get big they are cool. Would be a cool single fish to keep.
I have one 3" Paratilapia Polleni, I believe female.
And some Neetroplus Nematopus fry under 1/2". these shouldn't get above 5" max.

The cups aren't quarter gallon and I usually see them filled up less than half. They can't even move. So sad.

the cup he came out of was a tiny plastic dixie cup. with an inch and a half of water. disgusting.
