Bettas and Swordtails

I have a male betta in my 46gallon with angels, neons, cory cats and I've had no problem with fighting, but I added a pair of swordtails and the betta keeps picking on them. I had the swordtails in a 10gallon with a female betta and there was no problems but when I put another female betta in the tank the new female went after the swordtails so I remove her and put her in a bowl, the other female betta was fine with the swordtails, so my question is do the betta's have a problem with swordtails

bettas are fish that are totally unreliable with others...it can go good for months and one day you could wake up to disaster...each betta is different and no one can say for sure what they will / will not get along with ...always have a back up plan whenever attempting bettas with other bettas/any other fish

Agreed, some Bettas are just agressive to some fish.

Thanks for the replies! I do have a 2- 1/2 gallon tank and a few bowls if needed.

Betta are not fantastic at socializing, that's for sure! Try and get them in tanks instead of bowls as it is much better for them in a warm, filtered environment.
