| re assurance needed...18day old betta fry hi, last month i had my first betta spawning. i have attached the best pic i can get of my tiny 2 1/2 week old betta fry. can anyone tell me if it looks ok? they are eating a mixture of
ground high quality tropical flakes
ground hikari betta pellets
ground freeze dried blood worm
ground freeze dried brineshrimp
frozen baby brine shrimp
I lost a large number when i had to unexpectadly work away for 4 days last week and i had to leave a friend in charge (who had never kept fish before but they were the only choice i had) they over fed and never cleaned them. when i came back i had to do a full water change
i still have approx 50 babies left. some larger than others, the pic is of a medium one.
Does it look ok ish? |

| Aww...it looks okay to me. But I'm not a betta breeder, but it looks similar to the fry pics that Karen posts. Can we have a pic of the mom & dad? |

| Do you have some place already set up to take them? I'm not sure about where you're from, but here in the states not many people will take VT bettas. |

| two of my local stores have agreed to take any (and they said they would pay!!!!) I had a good chat with them before i started and they said if i can get them to a decent size they would make a deal with me for them, they also asked if i was going to look at breeding anything else (plecos might be next year) they took a load of guppies from me earlier this year approx 75, they gave me quite a bit of food for them
but i also have 6 friends from work who have a number of tanks and experience who are after some. I am setting up a 4 foot tank with dividers over the next week or two.
i think i have the betta bug now.
Its a good job my boyfriend understands.......oh we also have 6 cats |

| I can't even say how many cats I have! I do feral rescue, trapping and neutering, as well as kitten socializing, etc. We've had 10 kittens come in this season and I am currently bottle feeding 3 babies!
Not to mention ALL the fish! |

| i used to foster cats for the Cats Protection League, I love them. we have a number of stray visitors aswell, i can't help it, if they look hungry they need feeding! whats the cost of some cat food? nowt! All for neutering, cant stand people who don't look after them.
I have to ask for some cats pics now..... here are my six, plus some kittens we looked after earlier this year...... |

| sadly only 6 left, 1 male 5 females. I am going to breed the parents again.
I have got my micro worms ready to go, been looking after the mam and dad with a good protein diet, set up the spawning tank about two days ago with male in to get used to it, going to go again next weekend.
just seen a 45 litre/12gallon tank for £20 from local pet shop. to help grow out, then use my 2x45 litre, 1x65litre and 200litre for the youngsters when they get a bit older. (also lodger has moved out so now have my spare room back before my baby comes)
I had got the mam and dad from seperate shops (specialist fish stock) he is a vt pearl and she is just pretty.
I know i risked them not breeding but they got on soo well.
Little question, i can't seem to hatch any bbs. my set up was
2litre pop bottle, air pump and temp 26/27ish, with salt water.
I tried a cuple of times and failed. I ended up feeding the eggs to the babies. any idea what went wrong? |

| As far as the hatching I fill the 2 liter bottle up 2/3's of the way....I add 2 tablespoons of salt (salt for a salt water aquarium) 1 teaspoon of bbs eggs and run the air stone.....It takes up to 24 hours to hatch depending on temp......Make sure and treat the water with prime.... |
