Well... I had thought of the overnight shipping as well but your right, he is so big and would be so afraid that he wouldnt make the trip. 
Hopefully Sept will be a more quiet time for you... hmmmm how far away are you from Brattleboro? I know its across the state from you and may be just as long a trip? I was thinking when my sis takes her next trip up to Bratt that would make the trip a little easier, at least for getting Bala a new home?  Im still looking forward to your trip down some weekend to hang out.. like I mentioned before, we've got the room.  |

| update
After discussing it with Karen we decided that it was time to put Drake back into his home tank. There has been no movement at all in the breeder tank and after three days there should have been. 
I did a wc and added stress coat to drakes tank and brought him back home.
Where he can eat, rest and recoup.
I will leave the breeder tank going as if there is something there, for the next 24 hours before cleaning it out and wait the 3 weeks when I will try again...
Im very sad at this point, more for Drake than for myself. He worked so hard and did everything he could for 5 days without food or rest. Now its time for him to be catered too and to get strong again. He is back in the divided 10g with Rosie, Im sure she is happy to see her hubby again.

I had no idea that you were going to spawn Drake and Rosie! I am sorry to hear that it didn't work out, but hopefully they will get it right next time  I'm glad that they were gentle with each other and nobody got beat up. Poor Drake.... I feel so bad that he was being such a good daddy and things just didn't go as planned. | |

|  I feel sooooo bad..but I know you will have them try again. Drake was an awesome gentle dad, and so dedicated to his eggs..I do feel that he can only be a better spawn dad, and Rosie will know better what to do next time. I am so relieved at how well they both are ( physically) thats a bonus no matter what the outcome was.. | |

What a bit of bad luck with the exciting but unsuccessful spawn and now the computer. Fortunately, you'll get over both of these things in all likelihood. Drake and Rosie certainly have the potential to make gorgeous babies and they sound like very promising parents.
Enjoy your new computer once you get it set up, and most of all the next spawn!

| For a PC, I highly recommend a linux OS, more secure like the Mac OS and completely free - Kubuntu is what I use. Free software from Sun Microsystems allows me to run a 'virtual machine' when I need to use a Windows app. So far, Windows 7 doesn't seem worth the wait.  | |
