Recovering from tail rot?

My male betta Apache has tail/fin rot and I've been medicating him with Jungle Fungus Clear in a 2 gal tank. He's been in there for 2 days now and I've just changed the water today and added a piece of the Fungus Clear tablet. (I broke up the tablet and I've been adding it in piece by piece.)

I wanted to know, how do you know when your Betta is recovering from tail rot?
He's been active in his 2 gal tank and today it looks as if he's been swimming with his fins more freely. More spread out I guess you can say? This is a good sign correct? He also swims back and forth in the tank, but he also did this when he was in a 10 gal community tank. Is this normal behavior, or is it something I should look out for?

Here are some current pictures of him that I took last night:

Alisha, tail/fin rot is generally caused by dirty water. Keep your betta's water clean (a lot of water changes) and warm - that's all you need to get rid of the problem. If you started to use Jungle Fungus Clear, make sure you follow the instructions on the box completely. You will see your betta's fins/tail start to grow back. It takes time.

ara gave very good advice.

Fin rot can be a cumbersome problem and the healing process takes time. Don't expect immediate results and be vigilant. It all starts with clean water. Also, make sure that your betta's tail isn't getting caught in the filter intake or being snagged on decor, etc.

As ara mentioned, make sure to follow the instructions on the medication and do the full course of treatment. Another thing to consider, is that fin rot can be caused by both bacteria and fungus ... so treating both causes is a sound course of action.

Recovery can be noted by the lack of inflammation or discoloration of fin tips and also the start of regrowth. Keep the water extra clean ... use a slime coat aid such as Fish Protector or Stress Coat ... and incorporate health/healing aids such as Vita-Chem and Garlic Guard.
