what just happened?

Just A little bit ago, as I was starting to feed my little betta Cloud, he suddenly flew across the tank, and then just stopped with heavy breathing. I moved to look at him, and he shot clear across to the other side, and then started to attack the shrimp and the one minnow that was in his tank, something that hes never done before. every movement I made he reacted violently by darting everywhere.

I just left him for a minute, and came back, and everything was back to normal. He calmly came to the front of the tank eager to get his breakfast. Anybody know what caused him to do this? Its just weird as he is usually a very peaceful calm betta.

Sounds like he got startled. One of my girls does that and hides for a while after that.

Agreed with Lucy.

While all my bettas are pretty laid back, once in a blue moon they do get spooked, for reasons I never know. As far as harrassing the other fish, well my DG does that when he is spooked. It is probably a natural tendency for any animal to lash out in fear or pain.

perimeters are fine, I did a water change so its ok. I think he just got spooked by something. He seems fine since hes built quite the bubblenest in the corner of the aquarium.
