Two nights ago, my husband came homr from rehearsal and was unable to walk. We took him to the doctor yesterday, and the doctor told us that he has a partially torn ligament in his knee. He won't have to have surgery, but he won't be able to be on his feet much for the next four weeks. This is pretty devistating to us because we own a dance studio and he is our main instructor. Enrollment is always lower in the summer, so money is going to be really tight for us because we are going to have to bring in other teachers to cover some of his classes. Things have already been stressful, and with this on top of everything else, I spent most of yesterday with a migrane headache and crying on and off because I was worrying.

I was planning on ordering a few bettas from MM, and the tank is already set up, but I emailed her yesterday and canceled my order since I just can't justify buying expensive bettas and paying shipping right now, as much as I may want to. Sometimes you just have to have other priorities. I was really sad because I had a beautiful blue boy picked out that I just fell in love with.

My husband felt awful yesterday when I told him that I was going to take the tank down because he knew how excited I was about it. BTW, this is the first time I have ever seen him convince me not to break down a tank, lol He had some extra cash laying around, so he gave it to me and told me to go to Petco and get 3 bettas to put in my tank. I bought three sweet boys who I am absolutely in love with. Karen, they are nothing compaired to your boys, but they are still very pretty and sweet. With everything that happened yesterday, they really helped to brighten my day and made me smile. I'll post some pics up later because I have to leave for school soon, but I just thought I would let you guys know.

OMG im so sorry you had a stressful time
i had that happen to me to. my sister fell of a bus and broke her ankle ligaments. i was alone with her cuz my mom was in canada at the time. Its really stressful. Im glad everyone is ok. VEryone goes through a rough patch every once in a while. You´ll do wonderful, just wait. Have faith in yourself, i know youll be good

I'm so sorry your husband is hurt and that things are stressful for you. But you WILL pull through. I'm glad you got some new babies to take your mind off the stressful stuff - worrying won't make things better. I'm about to post my own sad story.

Aw Kate, I'm so sorry! That is really no fun at all. And having to cancel an order with Karen... that's soooo lame. I'm glad you were able to do that though to help out your little family. That was so sweet of your husband to tell you to keep up the tank I hope your little guys bring you lots of joy. I can't wait to meet them!

I'm so sorry you're having to deal with all this stress! Tell hubby we hope he's back on his feet soon! So glad he said for you to get the new bettas. It lets you both know how much you love each other.

I am so sorry to hear the news about your husband! I have been an aerobics instructor for many years and have suffered from that injury as well. He is very fortunate not to require surgery and while he will be in pain for a while I am sure he will fully recover.. I am sending healing thoughts your way.
I am happy that you were able to get some beautiful betta Boys to cheer you up..they certianly do have that effect.

Thanks so much everyone for the encouraging words. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful friends. Its a hard time for us, but I am really trying not to think of everything at once and just deal with one thing at a time. Even though things are rough, I have so much good in my life that I didn't have before and I feel so fortunate for that. Mike's spirits were better today. He taking this opportunity to compose music (his other passion), which he doesn't have much time to do when he's teaching full time. When he is happy, I am happy, so today was a much brighter day.

Anyways, I do need to introduce you all to my new boys!!! I was suprised to find such lookers at Petco, but then again, I was picky. I went to 3 different stores until I found them. All of them have a little fin damage, but most cup bettas do, and hopefully it can be easily fixed. They are already in their divided tanks building bubble nests and flaring up a storm, lol. I am still debating on what to name them, maybe you guys can help me decide...

Betta Boy #1
Possible Names: Ember, Cinder, Onyx

These pics really don't do him justice. He is a black and copper delta tail and when he flares his colors are amazing.




Betta Boy #2
Possible Names: Panda, Rochester, Oliver, Domino, Flicker

His coloring is really interesting. He has a black/steel body and white fins (delta tail). He's deffinetly a unique boy!






Betta Boy #3
Possible Names: Emmett, Stuart, Gulliver

He's a royal blue delta tail with a black face. He was being shy when I tried to take the pics, so I'm sorry they aren't very good. He didn't want to come out from behind his plant.

Thanks Angela I honestly think that the rest will be good for my husband because he works so dang hard all the time. Money is gonna be tight, but it makes things easier to look at things like this as a blessing.

Thanks Pink I am stoked that I was still able to stock my tank and get some pretty boys. I would have been such a bummer to have to tear it down.

BTW, if your BF is going to get you a betta from Karen, you should ask her to see pics of the boy that she was going to send me. He is amazing and I know you would love him. Then I can live vicariously though you
