So this morning starts as your typical morning, I greet all my swimming friends and start feeding. I have a small container of pellets, but the lid does not screw on it just pops on...can you guess where I'm going?? So I take it off the shelf and pellets EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't vacuum it all up since the kids are still asleep so I start whisking it into a big pile and get it all cleaned up. I finally get to sit and have my oatmeal. I then notice in my community tank, that is on a shelf below my divided 10g betta tank, that there is a lot of extra food. I didn't put that much in there. I open it up and it's filled with pellets!! ACK!! I get my net and proceed to scoop it all out. Cheeto, my platy, is trying to eat them, so she takes them in and spats them out...over and over again. Hello, get a clue!

So I clean the tank out and all's fine now. So the moral of my story...check how your food containers close before you buy them! lol!

awwwwwww im sorry for laughing...(which I hope you can too now!) I can so visualize your face when you realized what happened !!!

ive so been there..but with flakes..my granddaughter likes to help and I didnt move one jar before her visit..needless to say an entire can of omega one flakes went into a 20 gal tank..now mind you omega one isnt cheap, and 20 gals for a full bottle kept me doing water changes for over a month every day!!!
