Picky eating?

So, Keun the trouble-betta continues to eat his tail despite all my best efforts. I'm just hoping that he's not-flexible enough that he can't reach before he can't swim.

And now, these last couple of days, he's been off his pellets. Not his bloodworms, just his pellets, which makes me think he's just being a stubborn a- and trying just to eat treats and not real food.

Sometimes I wish I hadn't picked a betta with my personality-traits... (nail-biting, chocolate-eating, veggie-hating neurotic thing that we both are~)

most of my bettas only eat bloodworms and brine shrimp...I have 2 out of a "few" that will eat a pellet...nice to have fish that act like our kids isnt it

try turning the temperature to 27C, they like the warmer weather. i've never heard of bettas eating their own tail. what's his pH and does he have a filter? try not feeding him pellets for a day and feed him the frozen food. my bettas wouldn't eat pellets and would eat flakes, frozen foods and bugs that fell in the tank, once he took on a HUGE moth. it was so funny

You can try soaking the pellets in garlic juice. Sometimes that'll help stimulate their appetite. Or like Shawnie's bettas, spoiled on BW's and shrimp. lol

lol, i've had a couple bettas refuse to eat pellets before it's not too much to worry about, bloodworms are a great diet for bettas

i reckon bettas find pellets to hard to eat so i give the flakes and frozen foods.

Bloodworms are actually great food for bettas and ours only eat thawed, frozen bloodworms.

Try to find almond leaves. Sometimes having a piece of one in a tank will stop a betta from biting their tail.
