I haven't talked to my father about it yet and well he doesn't want anymore animals but it just kind of came blurting out of my mouth that I would take her two betta's... she's giving them to me monday which is helpful because my dad works and won't notice that I have something new but when he does notice there will be some issue's.... But in good news she's giving me a 5 gallon tank that I'm going to divide in two and put my little one in there and a 3 gallon that she was keeping her female in that I might or might not leave her in there or I might put the one with the tourn fins in there till they get better.
But I'm happy to be getting new fish just not sure how my father is going to take it

I plan on doing my best for taking care of them and hope I'll do a good job at it...
on another note my dad hates being talked to about things I want since I'm 18 but the thing is if I don't talk to him about something then well I'm in trouble so either way I'm going to be in some sort of trouble one no more than the other but still.

I would talk to your dad, but it may help if you tell him he won't have to "support" the bettas. You have your friend's tank, and you can pay for water conditioner, food, and decor yourself. Of course, it may add to the electric bill. But as long as they're your responsibility and your dad doesn't have to do anything to take care of them, he may actually agree. Works with my dad!

P.S. I got a free 10 gallon tank and so far it's only cost me $6.99 for more gravel . I used report binders, free from work, and plastic canvas, free from Nana and divided the tank. Worked well, seems to be snug...

He's going to let me keep them... I told him about them while we were visiting my mom this weekend and a whole bunch of people were around so it all worked out... he said as long as I got the tanks they were kept in it is fine

I'm also excited about the fact my father is going to let me pull the 10 gallon out of the garage and set that up... though he wouldn't let me get a 5 gal because it would be too heavy on my dresser which is were he is letting me put the ten gallon.

I won't be able to get them today the girl told me this morning that one of them got sick over the weekend and that she doesn't want to give them to me until they are both better

I am getting the female tomorrow the male passed away yesterday so I won't get him but I will get the female

Now it seems I won't be getting the betta... the girl I was supposed to get her from keeps giving excuses as to why she can't give it to me yet, she was running late or she forgot and today its because she was scared the water was going to splash out and get her car wet

Awww I'm sorry it fell through. That was really unfair of her to string you along like that. Would it be possible to get a couple bettas from Petco or Petsmart? They start at around $3-5 each....

if I had gotten this female then she would have come with her 3 gallon tank and I don't have anything else to put one in until I get the ten gallon all cleaned up which will be this weekend but won't actually be ready to add water or fish or anything else for quite awhile
