Yeah, all three were in good condition. They had just been separated from the females, and had noticably longer finnage. He seems to have settled nicely into the tank now, as he's trying to fight his reflection!

I'm pretty sure he's a he. His fins are about the same length as my girls, but he's only about a third as big as she is.

Did you ask the birthday? I'm guessing he is about 8-10 weeks..

Yeah, they were born at the end of feb. I've never seen a male betta before that didn't come from a petstore, so it'll be interesting to watch him develop in a proper home. All the males over here are sold in little containers or in a tank with fish that they shouldn't be with, and all have bad fins and are unhealthy. Thats where my male Bailey came from. He's happy now but no good for breeding.

Here's a few Pics of him. He's settled in very well, and seems to be enjoying his new home. He's very small, only about 9 weeks old, with exactly the same colouring as my female had when she was the same size, so I'm hoping that he'll colour up the same as her!

He is a very nice veiltail! Good luck with the spawning....Remember, the best age to spawn is around 14-16 weeks...Let me know if you have any questions when that time comes.....

He looks just as beautiful as, well, Beautiful Fish. Good luck with them! I do like the suggestion "Dream Boy." It sounds cute.

Here's an updated pic. He's definatly a boy, although to be frank, I wasn't sure until a few days ago when he learned to flare! His tank is right next to the female, that who he's flaring at!
