When do I start fry on BBS

Hi all, could somebody please advise when to start betta fry on BBS, The eggs were fertilised by dad on Weds of last week (29th April) and were free swimming by Friday 1st May. Just wanting advice when is best to start on BBS

Right now is a good time....We have been having a discussion on the IBC website about missing ventrals and microworms...The sooner you can get them on BBS the better.......How many little wigglers did you end up with?

Shawnie, believe it or not I had one baby choke on it....That is how tiny these guys are...My teenagers love it! I swear by it.....

There far too many to even begin counting them lol.....I am estimating about 150 at present..... They are clever little things....they were spawned into a tank we made specially for breeding, it has 3 compartments 2 that are 10 x 12 then one that is 4 inches by 12 (females introduction area) This area we sectioned using glass and sillicone . . only using enough silicon that it will still allow water flow round it - lots of these tiny fry have managed to get round it and lol all the others are trying to follow suit - good job mummy back in her own tank

I had no luck with the decapsulated eggs so back to basics

MM I bet the golden pearls would work at the stage before decapsulated shrimp are fed.

While the fry are so small, i use BBS as its a live food and the fry see them swimming around and have to go after it.

The decapsulated BBS don't swim around as much and most of mine go to waste, thats until they are about a month old then they are coming to the surface more to look for food, thats when i would start feeding decapsulated BBS, or other non live foods.

When we had our mahachai spawn, they started up on the bbs as soon as they were free swimming.

I have started them on bbs and they seemed fine with it went chasing after it with enthusiasm

They sure do love it & it's fun watching them darting around and getting full little orange bellies.
