Update on Murphy

Well Murphy is doing well in his new tank and out of that horrible little 'death cup'. He is a little mopey. I am not sure if that is just his personality or if he is still feeling the effects of being kept in that little cup. he has colored up a little bit since yesterday which I was surprised happened so fast. When I first saw him in Petco he was white with some red spots but now he seems a little more red to me...but that may just be wishful thinking...

Does anyone have any tips for livening up a betta who was just rescued from that horrible 'death cup'.

oh I will try and snap some pictures of him soon.

I'm glad he's looking better
A clean, cycled tank, good food, a little extra stress coat, vita-chem and garlic guard or garlic juice will do wonders for him. Oh, and lots of love and attention.
Can't wait to see him.

Thanks Lucy. I have read about garlic juice on a few other threads I am going to try it with him.

i'm glad he's feeling better it really is amazing how quickly they can bounce back. what are you feeding? i'd recommend either hikari or attisons pellets as a staple diet, frozen bloodworms as a treat once a week, and frozen brine shrimp every two weeks or so. you can also feed a small piece of cut up, de-shelled pea once a week or so to help prevent bloating.

also, there are before and after pics of one of my cup rescues in my signature, as well as a link to another thread with before and after pictures from other members

Agabr the condition your fish was in the before picture is exactly like how Murphy looks...
Which is why I bought him because he looked so sad. I really hope with some TLC he will look like your after pic because WOW that is amazing the difference...I feed my Bettas pellets and bloodworms as you suggested. I am going to my LPS tomorrow to pic some stuff up for Murphy I am def going to get some brine shrimp!

Thanks for the help
