| Hi Karen
that just shows you how much stupidity there is ...
Will your daughter in law go down there and give them a piece of her mind? (trying to be polite here, there are other things I'd rather say! )
You can try reporting it as cruelty to animals at Criaglist but they just may not see it as an infringement.. but you can email to the person that posted it and give her or him a piece of your mind.. |

| You can flag it as selling pets on Craig's List which is not allowed, if the ad gets enough flags it'll come down.
But those people will still be selling at that location.
I flagged it, if we all do, it should get enough to be taken down. |

| Flagged.
Lucy is right about flagging it. They will still be at the location selling them but the faster it gets removed the less people will see it. You could also post a ad replying to this ad with the title of RE:Party fish very bad or something and explain how horriable that actaually is. Then the people looking at them will also see your ad and might thing twice about buying them. |

| This all comes from retailers not properly being educated in keeping bettas. Hence everyone thinks they can live in just about anything. I've seen the "cute" containers they sell at places like PetMart, etc.... No wonder the public thinks its ok...who wouldn't if they didn't research. Some how the problem needs to be addresses through the pet stores (ie chains). They should advertise using aleast 2.5 gallon with heater etc... What about pamplets stating how they should live. Until this happens nothing will change...people just don't know. I truely believe most (not all) really would want to take proper care of their pets. They dont' realize the real reason their beloved fish just sits on the bottom of the bowl..... |

| This is aweful! I flagged it. I wonder what happens when it comes time to clean that bottle . . . You couldn't get gunk out of the bottom unless you inverted it entirely, in which case the poor betta would have to fit through that little spout and would have the marbles falling on it! Sickening! |

Ah ha.
I also flagged the craigslist ad. |

| Bettas really are the most abused pet fish. And of course, these people are just plain idiots.. a fish in a blender? oh ya, that's so clever. |

Just because they can survive dosent meant they can thrive.
I mean given the right conditions a bowl can be a great setup, but 2.5 is WAY BETTER! | I give my Betta's more then 2.5 gallons..IMO 2.5 is borderline small. I know some people have great luck with them and it's better then a cup but it's still pretty small. Mine each have 10 gallon tanks..I think the 5 gallon tanks are great too. |
