Fishstick

As requested pictures of Fish Filet.

I thought I was going to get him a bigger tank at Petco today (he is in a 1 gallon at the moment). I looked around nothing really thrilled me. I did end up getting another betta. I know I said I might in my last thread. He is white with some red spots on his fins. I just felt so sorry for him. He was all the way in the back of this fish section looking very sad. His fins are a little worse for the wear but I am hoping with a little TLC he will get some more color and his fins will get better.

I ended up buying the little guy. I bought another tank for him the same size as the one I have for my other Betta. I bought a few silk plants and he seems much happier to me. I named him Murphy. I will try to get some pics of him for everyone but enjoy the ones of Fish Filet. They are a little blurry because I took them with my cell phone.

The pictures are when I just got him. It is in a smaller tank than he is in now *I went out and bought a one gallon tank the next day*.

I am still looking for that bigger tank...

Someone (can't remember who) said walmart had their 2.5g mini bows on clearance for cheap, add a tetra heater and you'd be all set.

Thanks Lucy for the tip I will def have to check out Walmart.

As for Murphy I can already see the difference between Fish Filet and him. He is shy and Fish Filet is not. Murphy is going to need a lot of TLC. His fins are a mess! They look so ragged and you can tell he is not feeling well because he just sulks in the corner. I just hope that by tomorrow he looks better.

I am going to go back to the pet store tomorrow and get a small cave for him because he seems like he would like something to hide in.

Does anyone have some easy tips for helping a sickly looking Betta get better? I am already using some medication for his fins (I forget the name but it worked great for Fish Filet it really helped him bring out his color).

Any advice would be appreciated

Not sure if it's just my Walmart or everybody's but they are usually 27.92 marked down to just 7.50..GREAT deal. Hope your Walmart has them on clearance too. Good luck. Your betta looks so sweet by the way.

I got a good deal on a 5 gallon corner eclipse at PetSmart. I did the price match from Petmountain.com and it was $40.
