| Welcome MM's and pamd's new boy!
Here's MM's and pamd's new boy. I drove up to Chandler, AZ, from Tucson to get him. Karen (a.k.a. MM a.k.a. martinismommy) and I had a really wonderful visit together chatting, as usual.
New boy's name is Antonio, after the red-headed prolific composer Antonio Vivaldi. I was going to nick-name him Tony, a name I like, but nooooo. He's too elegant, so he's called Antonio. I don't think I caught his red head quite right in these pictures, but he's red-headed.
It was amazing, once again, to see MM's setup and her tanks, especially all the fry and grow-out tanks. It's all so incredibly clean and organized.
Antonio had the big ordeal of getting netted then coming home with me during a 2-1/2 hour trip. He's an amazing fish. He was extremely ANGRY at being in the plastic bag, biting and biting it. "Let me outta here!"
When I netted him to introduce him to his new home, he became totally docile, as MM trains all her babies to get used to the net. After all the turmoil, he immediately laid in the net, totally calm. To have seen him in the plastic bag, you would have thought you would have a fighting, flopping fish in the net.
When I let him out, he explored his new home for about 10 minutes and asked for food. I love him. |
