Sickly Betta

We're had Max for 2 years now, no clue on his age. recently he hasn't been very active and the last few days have been worse. He's not seeming to eat, or I can't tell as he doesn't go for his pellets like he used to, he pretty much lays on the bottom or right at the surface. Sometimes he will just float head up, tail down.
He looks kinda pale, and his bottom lip (?) Looks a little out of sorts, but his lip has been like that for months. I'm doing a 1/2 tank water change every few days just to be safe. What else can I do or look for?

I'm sorry your betta isn't feeling well.
Do you know what his water parameters are?
It's hard to guess what could be wrong with him. Is he bloating? pooing regularly?
Has his water been at a warm consistant temp?

At this point, all you can do is watch him. Possibly try some different foods. Add a little extra stress coat, Vita-chem and garlic guard. All good things for your betta.

Two years is getting pretty old for a better especially if he was a cup baby. It's possible he's just slowing down in his older years.

Good luck, I hope he feels better soon.

im sorry he's not feeling well if you've had him for two years, chances are he's just getting up there in age (he was probably 6-8 months old when you got him if he was a cup baby). the best thing to do is keep the water pristine and at the correct temperature with all the things lucy suggested (stress coat, vitachem, garlic guard or just a few drops of garlic juice, etc)

aawwww.. Im sorry your boy is not feeling to great.. He may just be getting older.. a big silk lounging plant may be in order.. older Betta ( and young ones) like to lounge..a silk broadleaf plant will make it easier for him to stay near the top and not have to expend so much energy.
