Well, I envy you because after three attempts, my male has eaten all eggs!

You should take the male out once you see the fry swimming horizontally in the tank. Then his job is done.

I am sure MM will be along to give you any further advice!

Congratulations on a successful spawn!

i got up at 2.30 this morning (20 month old baby woke me ) and looked in tank and i thought oh no u ate them but continued looking only to find things (VERY SMALL THINGS) bobbing about if it hadn't have been so early in morning i probably would have just cleaned the tank up

he's hovering under it then will go swim about and come back - i have offered him a little food incase he's ready to eat he shown a little interest but not much (try to avoid him eating fry)

Mine stayed away from the nest completely for about two days. His bubble nest deteriorated, and there was no movement from the nest. You could not see any eggs anymore. My guess is that the eggs were not fertilized properly because he tended them for about 24 hours after spawning, and then when he realized they were duds, he ate them.

think i may have mis-understood the rate at which they hatch please could you advise....the fertilisation took place on tuesday of this week (28th) so what day is this saw them falling out of nest this morning as eggs with tail as i can only discribe it they are now like little fleas bobbing up n down under nest

I have read that it can take anywhere from 24-72 hours. That is why you should leave the male in there long enough to determine that there are babies. I think the most common amount of time is 48 hours. It has to do with the temp of the spawning tank I think.
