| MTS this early? I had been told, warned, and even knew it could happen, but this quickly? It has been said that you don't just stop at 1.
We just love our betta boy so much and I want another one! I saw him. He was in a rather large bowl for a LFS and really caught my eye because he is ALL WHITE. I've never seen one like it. They had two, but one spoke to me. Oh yes, spoke to me. Said, "adopt me, Jenn. You know you want to". SO.... he's FIFTY BUCKS. Seems rather steep to me and I didn't ask the clerk for fear my husband would roll his eyes at me, but is that a special fish and the price is matched to that?
I can't remember exactly, but it was called a Snow something. (I'm gapping out on the name)
I.want.him.
My Birthday's on Monday... I soooo want to push this and get a new tank set up (will wait of course before actually picking him up and dropping him into the new tank).
Is anyone here to talk me out of it, or am I pleasantly doomed? |

| It would just be so wrong of me to talk you out of it. You see, with MTS all it takes to start the addiction is the first exposure. So I was planning my next tank as soon as I got the first.
As far as I know, pure whites are pretty rare.. hence why he might have been expensive. Though I am a noob when it comes to that sort of thing. Martinsmommy probably knows the answer to that one. |

I was already thinking how neat it would be to have another betta before we even got our boy home!
I hope someone has seen the whites before and can comment on that price... if it's not too expensive for that type, I'm probably going to have to go get him. |

| I dont think any of us will talk you out of more betta's!! we just love them...is the $50 for a pure white betta? because if so, thats way too much especially at a LFS...its probably because they are rare there and not so much the quality of him...I got my boy for $7 ...but can you put a price tag on love? NOPE ...just wanted you to know that was a bit high even for a pure white love |

| I started with one betta... I now have 10.
Aquabid has pure whites for $20. Fifty seems a little much, but if you really want it, go for it! |

| i would realy advise against getting him
$50 is way too much for him, don't forget that most LFS put their prices at 5-9 times what they pay for them - which means you can obviously get one a **** of a lot cheaper!
best bet is to find a betta breeder or just look online for one.
I will admite that i do suffer the same though, if i see something i want i get it.. even if i have no room for it. (bought 9 loaches today with nowhere to put them since the new tank for them is still at 16c(1 zebra, 2 Bengal, 6 Zodiac)) |

| HM: halfmoon
DT: double tail
although she may have been talking about a Delta tail |

I think out of this family, I'm the one with a more serious case of MTS. Hubby, while he did suggest I "pick out another betta tank" and I jump for joy because we're going to do that on Tuesday, he was more concerned with a stand to put it on than actually just getting the betta boy.
I'll be picking up our new boy as soon as the new tank (going on my desk) is cycled.
*and of course, now I'm thinking of dividing our 20 gal. to house another betta with Gorgeous Fish. HAHAHA! |

it's when you start bringing the fish home and then thinking about that tank that you start running into trouble |

| I have caught myself wondering, Do I really need a dining room table? I could put a big tank there. And that tv stand, why it could hold like 5 betta tanks...!!
My LFS sells bettas in 1/2 gallon bowls...some of them have 'special' written on the bowl in black marker, along with the price - $49.99. Not for me! |
