I got up this morning feeling rather queasy from a bout of Food Poisoning last night. My Tank light was on, thanks to my honey, and everything seemed fine.
Then, my partner took another look in the tank, and found Neptune, on the bottom, dead. This has shocked and saddened me. Neptune was an awesome Crowntail, who was never bothered about his tank mates and just did his own thing. When I bought him, I picked him because he flared at me in his cup when I picked it up for a closer look at him. His attitude and gorgeous colors melted my heart.
Now he's gone. He's showed no signs of illness or disease, and his appetite has been as voracious as always in recent days. I don't know whether he was just an older fish when I bought him at the beginning of December, but he'd always been healthy with no problems. I'm not one to get upset over losing a fish - most times, they can be replaced, but Neptune was special. He was my baby.
RIP Neptune.
