| My new breeding pairs arrived.. Here are my 2 new pairs that were imported from Thailand...The blue pair is halfmoon and the purple pair are Plakats...My blue BF came in all shreded up....I was soooooooooo sad! I wanted to do some good photos of him before I spawned him....O'well....He's a lovely boy for sure and is healing up nicely....I haven't taken the Plakats wife's picture yet but she looks identical to my Shannon pink/white BF girl...
This is the down side of shipping in from out of the country...Fins don't always look like they did in the photo! |

| Congrats on the new arrivals! They are beautiful! I just love the purple plakat with his gorgeous 'mask'. The BF is gorgeous as well... and even with the fin damage, you can see the beautiful butterfly design all around...
He is quite handsome! Looking forward to the female plaket's photo when she is up to it. Poor darlings and their long trip here... |

| Thank you everyone for your nice comments and continued support! I'm excited about the blue pair....He is a really LARGE boy and his fins are enormous.....I hope to produce some beautiful babies.....
This will be my 1st Plakat breeding......I actually got the Plakat to try and eliminate the Rosetails I'm getting in my spawns....Although the heavy Rosetails are beautiful, they are not desired in the show ring.....
I'll keep you all posted when the spawn occurs.... |

I'll let you know...I can't wait to try them! Do they come alive or what? | no honey...they are not alive..heres a quick read about what you are getting
"Decapsulated (Non-Hatching) brine shrimp Eggs
Also known as "topless" or shell-free, Decapsulated Brine Shrimp Eggs are fed directly to a wide variety of tropical fish - providing excellent nutritional value without the necessity and down-time of hatching. . This process leaves the thin hatching membrane surrounding the unhatched brine shrimp embryo intact. Decapsulated brine shrimp eggs have a higher energy value than live brine shrimp since the energy consumed in the hatching process is conserved. Lipids and amino acids are left intact. Simply rehydrate the decapsulated brine shrimp eggs for a few minutes in fresh water and feed directly to your fry or juveniles (This step is not necessary for adult fish.). Note: A small amount of decapsulated eggs goes a long way. Don't overfeed. Again, these are non-hatching. The oxidation process is exothermic and generates heat in excess of the lethal temperature of the embryo. The further dehydration of the egg to maintain its shelf life renders the egg non-viablel |
