| My New Babies!!!! :)
On Tuesday, my beautiful new girls and boy arrived from Karen (MartinisMommy). The five girls will be in a 20 gallon sorority tank together as long as they can behave themselves, and the boy has a 10 gallon all to himself.  So far everything with the girls has been going VERY well apart from the occasional flaring and chasing, but they seem to be settling in alright. They haven't been named yet, so any suggestions are welcome!
Unfortunately I don't have anywhere NEAR MM's awesome photography skills, I don't know how you get them to stay still!!!!! |

I think that's a nice number, only I think I'll need one more actually to make it an even twelve, and so that the boys can have a fighting chance. The girls WAY outnumber them now.

| Alex!!!!!..You got 5 of MM's babies..You lucky devil  I'm too jealous...Good luck with the sorority, I hope they are good girls and make it work. Keep up with the pics you have some beautiful bettas..I think MM sold her soul to get such good pics of perfect little baby babies..lol..

Thanks, those little girls are pistols but they mostly are too concerned with guarding their favorite plants or driftwood or whatever.
Oh I believe it!!! I sat there for over an hour trying to get pictures of these girls! The boy is a little slower too, but he's been pouting a bit and hiding in the back. When he does come out I try to get as many pictures as i can. | |

| oh gosh i can't even think about breeding right now! i wish that i had the time, energy, and resources to do it, but i've got my hands full now between my finbabies and college and everything. i though about maybe trying to breed guppies this summer but i wouldn't want to do it unless i had two really, really gorgeous guppies and even then i don't know. believe me, if i had lots and lots of money to spare and lots and lots of space, i would have so many tanks you would not even believe! | |

| haha yeah i try. i just cant help it!!!! i blame my roommates and neighbors, whenever we're at wal-mart they always have to check out the bettas, and they always have to show me the poor babies...i can't help but bring another one home! the thing that's frustrating about them is that i have absolutely no clue how old they are. i have some guesses but that's about it.
i was actually not very happy about the last betta that i got from wally world. my neighbor in the dorm room was with us when we went to wal mart, and she saw a betta boy that she really wanted to get for whatever reason. well she said that she didn't have the space to take care of it, so would i? (keep in mind she already has a betta, he's such a pretty boy, she kept him in a .5 gallon bowl for the longest time, i twisted her arm for so long to make her get a tank, which is somewhat of an improvement even though its only about 1.5 gallons) well of course i said yes, but i really couldnt afford an entirely new set up so she was going to have to buy everything for him, but i'd take care of him. well she's trying to tell me that he's "my" betta now after she realized how much keeping them costs, luckily i've already gotten the 5 gal setup and the heater out of her, but i really think that she needs to take responsibility for him. she bought him, he's hers, i'm just taking care of him. it's a little overwhelming just to the extent that his poor tail is ripped to shreds. i don't feel comfortable giving him to her because she doesn't really take the greatest care of the betta she has now.... | |

| Yikes...She should def. take responsibility but since you have everything for him, the tank and setup you should just call him yours.. ..She should take him but if she's not going to care for him I would just keep him. .I remember your thread about him and the "deal"...That stinks his tail is shredded. Hows it coming along?. getting any better. | |

| That's my set up , i'm thinking about adding more plants and caves/clay pots/hiding spots in the tank for the littlest girls so that they have more places to hide and rest, so the next time i can get to my LFS i'll see what they've got | |

| Awwwwwwwww how nice to see my babies finally up on Fishlore.....As the posts go on I can see them coloring up so nicely.....They are looking good Alex! You are doing a fabulous job with them...Owners like you make selling Bettas fun!
Red, yes those are my "DunnXDragon lady" daughters....All of the girls that spawn produced are Fishlore members now lol..Pam has the other sister.....
Here are some photos I took of the boy and 2 of the girls right before they left....I know they are bad children and don't sit still for one second! I got them good and full and then got the camera (trick #1)
Keep the pictures coming Alex...I love seeing my babies!

| Thank you and yes, he did do a great job on color and finnage......They are double ray halfsuns! I didn't keep anything for breeding out of that spawn.....I'm concentrating on my blues and MG's this year in preperation for the IBC convention in June... | |
