| | Fish Master | Before And After Betta Pics Here are pictures of Ares when I first got him at wal mart, about two months ago, and pictures of him today! Just goes to show you what proper heating and filtration can do for a poor betta in an awful cup! Last edited by agabr123; January 29th, 2009 at 03:21 PM.

| | Fish Master | I know, it's such a good feeling to know that they can really reach their full potential under my care!
Oh, and everyone who has had experience with this and has pics, PLEASE feel free to post them! |

| | Fish Keeper | Not exactly the same. This is our new Betta, straight from my LFS, photo taken after 10mins in tank. The lady who owns the LFS takes great care of all the fish, as if they were her own pets. It's good to know there are people selling fish commercially who take good care of them! |

| | Fish Master | Thanks! I like to think so...and I'm sure he is happier now in his 5 gallon tank rather than his <.5 liter cup! |

| | Fish Keeper | I've never seen Bettas in cups, must be awful for them. How big are the cups?, like a cup you drink from? |

| | Fish Master | no, they're way smaller than that. my friend's came in the size of a small dixie cup. most are about 3 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter with a plastic snap-on lid.... |

| | Fish Master | yeah...it really is....that's why they get so many pity buys (from me of course)....and also why people think that they can be kept happily in a goldfish bowl (none of which should ever hold a goldfish either!!!) |

| | Fish Helper | The cup I got Sir Elton from was one cup of water exactly (I use pyrex to acclimate because I know exactly how much 50-50 is, and they get boiled often enough that they're super clean) My LFS at least takes the time to change out the water and had the bettas hanging on a heated wall, but still- such a tiny cup.
I love the before and after photos! That little string of blue really blossomed, didn't it? Such a pretty little man <3 |

| | Master Of Fish Poo! | They respond so well to proper conditions. There should be before and after pics above the death cups asking betta buyers which would they want! |
