| I'm so glad your little guy is doing so well!
The three I have right now didn't have any overwhelming transformations, but I still kind of wish I had gotten a "before" picture of Deuce when I got him.
He was a rescue fish: lying on the bottom of his horrid little cup, he was barely covered in water (and that's not giving him room for his dorsal fin... just barely his body). I would have taken him home anyway, but he was extra-beautiful, too: cream colored with navy-blue edges to his scales, and navy veins through his tail. I took him home and immediately got some water at the correct temperature and diluted his cup to half-and-half, and half an hour later moved him into a gallon of clean water. I knew I was going too fast, but I couldn't stand leaving him in that cup...
LITERALLY five minutes later, I walked past to discover a different fish. He was no longer cream colored: he darkened to lovely mustard yellow. The blue was brighter, and he had a slight irradescent green sheen. He had his fins on display for me, too. All for only one gallon of clean water.
They sure give back all they can for a little TLC, don't they? |
