This little guy was a LFS "rescue" that we picked up on the spur of the moment. His name is Peanut. I'm just trying to figure out what type of betta he is. He doesn't seem to match the standard Veil-Tail because his tail is rounded...but he doesn't really look like a butterfly either. And he's obviously not a crown or delta tail. His fins are a little tattered from fin rot but we've been treating him with maracyn II and hopefully he'll be better soon.

His unusual coloration caught my eye...and he looked so sad at the store. I just had to bring him home. Glad you like him, he enjoys the compliments.

Peanut's namesake is one of Comedian Jeff Dunham's Ventriloquist dummies. He's kinda colored like our peanut. I'm glad you all like him. I'm kinda worried about those black spots on his back though...I'm not sure if that's coloration or some kind of disease.

If it's the kind of dark-blue flecks on his side that you're worried about, it does just look like his coloring. My Jakey has the exact same thing and is in great health.
