I would think that the newt probably climbed out of the tank. They are little escape artists and need a tight fitting top.

Thanks again...I had Jasper who had fin rot from the day I got him this time last year right until when in died in May of the parasite. His fin would get better... then rot and so on.

Newt was a female betta
