Ok I'll show this thread to my mom. I really don't know where I'm going to find kuhli loaches though. I live in Farmington Hills, MI. I also don't think that it is worth it to order them from the internet.

I wish I'd known that kuli loaches and betta's could be tank mates. I really kinda like the little guys. unfortanetly all my tanks have gravel and are maybe just a little too small... however I do have a couple empties that I could play with... no must resist!!!...

What about pygmy cories? If I could find some would that work?

3 pygmy cories should do fine as long as you keep the water pretty clean. The ones I got were very fragile.

Do you have Prime? Using that and doing daily 50% water changes should keep the fish safe until the tank cycles.

no I just got an API product called ammonia lock

Ammonia lock will do what it says, lock the ammonia and not make it available to feed your bacteria, meaning it will starve the bacteria.

Prime detoxifies it, making the water safer for fish but still available to the bacteria.
