Wiggles has 3 tankmates! I have a question.

Hi Everyone:

Wiggles has 3 new tankmates - they are 3 Corydoras Arcuatus. Cute little buggers. They are about 1 1/2 inches long. We've named them Moe, Larry & Curly.

Wiggles' fins look healthier after treating her with triple sulfa. She still has a couple of tiny tears on the tips of her fins. I think she came that way and we didn't notice because she lived in a vase and she kept her fins clamped. It's a pleasure to see her "wiggle" and spread her fins all over the tank.

Question: I'm feeding Wiggles Hikari Tropical Betta Bio-Gold / freeze dried bloodworms. I have Omega One Veggie Flakes and Tetra Veggie flakes both enhanced with Sprulina. I also have Omega One Freshwater flakes along with Tetra Color granules that float to the bottom. Should I only feed the granules that drop to the bottom so that Wiggles doesn't get overfed? I notice that when I put the flakes in, Wiggles looks at them but appears not to eat them. (Not sure if she is snacking when she goes to the bottom of the tank.)

Question: I put sea glass on the bottom of the tank with some smooth colored stones. Should I be concerned about MLC hurting their barbs?

Thanks!

Wiggle's is anything like my Betta, he may ignore the flakes because he'll only eat the bloodworms. But it probably wouldn't hurt to give LMC the sinking granuals just to be on the safe side. Also, you could put the granuals in after turning out the lights, to deter Wiggles from eating them.

LMC should be fine with any smooth glass or stones that you put in the bottom.

I would soak the bloodworms (tank water, clean treated water, vitachem or garlic guard are good choices for that). A lot of Bettas don't care for flakes, but generally I wouldn't recommend flakes for Bettas as the dry flakes can help bring on constipation sometimes.

Wiggles is being a hog!! I try to feed her first and THEN now she goes after the flakes AND the pellets that drop down! I'm concerned that Moe, Larry & Curly may not be getting enuf food!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr I will try turning the lights off when I drop the pellets.
