Hexes are great when they are large quantities of water... for a small corner I would go with a rectangular 5 or 10 gallon tank... the shape is much more suited to bettas anyway, they like long and shallow tanks.

Theres always room for a 10g too lol.. and a 20g long too... you should see my kitchen... I have made room for all sizes of tanks in places where tanks don't normally go... I have to put up a curtin on the side of the 10g when I cook tilapia so I don't make my fish upset lol....

I gave my betta boy to my mother, he was in a hex tank, and he is a lot happier in a 10g rectangular tank, of coarse it has a separator thing in it, and there is a female on the other side so he is really happy lol

There was a guy on this forum who had a hex for his Betta. The problem he had, was that the Betta was seeing his own reflection in the corners and was constantly flaring and stressed out.

So for that reason, I would say stay away from the hex.

I have a 10 gallon for Raymond, a 6.6g bookshelf for Leonard and my son's girlfriend's betta, Pepper is in a 5g hex. Pepper did flare in the hex to begin with but we put plants in the corners that made him craziest and he's fine now. My personal favorite is the bookshelf tank.
