He uh... followed me home... I swear!!

Or at least that's what I am claiming. When I saw this pretty boy, I couldn't say no. Right now he is in a 2.5 gallon tank with a cave, java moss, a sponge filter and a heater. The tank seems so big compared to him, he's so tiny! He's not even an inch long! He will soon be moved to a 10 gallon tank, as soon as I get it set up and cycled.

Anyone have any ideas for a name? My daughter wants to name him "Toothy" (I have no idea where her 4 year old mind came up with that one). I'm not sure I like it.

He is quite handsome! I think I would just call him that, handsome. I'm not very creative when it comes to naming my fish. My pleco is "Superfish" and I haven't managed to name any of my others... yet.

He's so pretty and delicate looking. Hah-hah! "Toothy"! That might be a great name for him if you experience him leaping out of the water and biting your finger. Maybe he did that to your daughter! Let's just hope she wasn't feeding him something he shouldn't eat if that happened! Or maybe your four-year-old was so observant that she saw his little sharp teeth.

I also like the name Cloud.

Congratulations on your beautiful new boy.
I'd let your daughter keep the name she picked out for now.
You know how 4 year olds are, she might change his name in a couple of days.
They can be so proud that they got to name a pet.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I've wanted a white betta for so long, I'm so glad I found him.

There were several awesome name suggestions... I'll run them by the boss (my daughter) and see if she likes any of them better than Toothy.

I'm going with 'Toothy' too!!! 'THEY' tell us their names and children hear/ see so much more than us!!! Here in the UK we say 'Toofypegs' to kids

He's actually white, not gold. I think the picture with the red background makes him look gold. His body is a white irridescence and his tail is clear.
He's very goofy, right now he's diving into the java moss and wiggling through it as fast as he can. So cute!

Ohh hard to tell, but yeah in the second photo the light makes him look pearl-gold. He's a lovely boy in any case, whites are amazing.
