SO MAD at my betta

Vlad, my blue VT, had really bad finrot. So I moved him into a 10 gal. His tail was growing back great! I went upstairs - it's all raggedy again! It looks like he's been biting it! It looks like he's a CT now. I can't believe that he's going to start biting now. I added garlic already - I'll do a water change tomorrow & redecorate his tank. Maybe that will keep him occupied.

Hi sorry Vlad isn't feeling well.
Is the filter maybe too strong for his tail or maybe he's catching it something?
Have you seen him bite it?

No, I wasn't upstairs where he is all day yesterday. The filter is on the other side of the divider - he has the heater on his side. I'm going to do a water change now, hopefully that will help.

David Bowie chewed off one of his pelvic fins out of stress/loneliness when I went on vacation for a few days in July; is it possible that Vlad is just feeling lonely? Relocating their tanks can make them grouchy, especially if it means they get to see less of you. Maybe you could put him somewhere where there is more activity in the house, so he doesn't feel left out?
It's always hard to treat tail-biting, it's such a psychological thing and most of us don't speak Betta. -_-" I wish you good luck with him!

Well, he is in a divided tank. So the other betta should keep him some company. I redecorated his tank (switched the sides), and moved the filter to his side. I also added maracyn & garlic to the tank. Plus a water change. So hopefully he'll start healing up.

We had a Betta named Aslan who did that. I think after the tail fin grew back, he'd catch sight of it behind him and *nip, nip, nip*.
